Northeast Tennessee District Coordinator

Darlene McCleish is serving as the National History Day Coordinator through grants from the Andrew Johnson Heritage Association and the Niswonger Foundation.  During the 2010-2011 school year Darlene met with over 700 students at 10 schools in Greene, Hawkins, and Suillvan Counties.  Because of the growth of the program in this area, a new Northeast Tennessee District has been created.  Darlene will focus this year on involving teachers and students from all ten counties, offering system workshops and individual school visits to support teachers’ efforts with NHD.
