2010 NHD Theme: "Innovation in History: Impact and Change"

It's not too early! Start preparing your students now for step one of participation in National History Day. Encourage your students to begin work on their entries for History Day which will be held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University on February 26, 2010. We encourage you to hold school competitions in late January/early February. Online Registration begins on January 15 and will close on February 5, 2010 which is earlier than past years, so please plan accordingly. Winners will advance to Tennessee's National History Day competition in Nashville, and then those placing 1st and 2nd at the state competition will be eligible to advance to the National Contest at the University of Maryland in June.

The Middle Tennessee History Day District Competition allows each school to send two (2) entries in each of these three categories: documentary, exhibit, and performance. Four (4) entries are allowed per school in each category for Papers and Website Design. Four (4) entries are allowed per school in each category for Papers and Website Design.
